Metallic conductive ink
Metallic conductive ink is special type of ink for unconventional application. Such ink can be successfully applied in electronic industry for printing for example conducting elements, printed circuit board (PC, RFID (radio-frequency identification) tag etc.
The technology of inkjet printing for conducting elements was proposed recently and related to appearance of new type printing heads which able to print high resolution image with high precision which can meet strict technical requirements of electronic industry. But instead of great opportunities for this product the market proposal is still limited even at world scale. For instance well known similar products are from Cabot Corporation (USA), Seiko Epson (Japan). The price of this ink is about 10 000 $/kg. The high price of this ink is related to usage of metal nano powder with particle size about 30 nm and moreover in general precious metals are used (silver the most popular due to high electrical and heat conductivity, stability at standard conditions etc.).
Today all printed circuit board in Russia are produced by photolithography technique but in case of usage inkjet printing with conductive ink the prime cost of PCB will be decreased a lot. End users today need to order PCB but technology of inkjet printing allows them to produce it directly by their own resources. Also the production rate will be increased in comparison with conventional production methods. It should be emphasized that 1 high technology production line able to produce 12-16 m2 of finished product with max size 50x40 cm for PCB.
The engineers of SUN Company have created precision printer for printing PCB and other electronic objects which was successfully tested with conductive ink from SUN company.
